Good morning Ladies ! You join me from a more fall like Minnesota where the temperatures are more seasonal than the late summer ones we had been experiencing. I woke up this morning to temps in the high 30s f , getting close to the freezing level ! The trees in our back yard are gradually turning color , our first time to see them at this house.
Last Saturday one of out family tested positive for covid . It was a little bit of a shock but the rest of us got tested and the results came back negative on Monday evening Thank God! She took the appropriate steps in isolating and distancing during the week and is now not contagious . We did not go to Church Sunday , awaiting results of tests. The boys stayed home from school all week following protocol. They also stayed away from Church class. For some relief I went with our oldest son to the high school football game Thursday night! It was against a local school and there was a good atmosphere. There was a theme for the night in support of cancer awareness with people encouraged to wear pink. Lots of the boys also wore pink, some even wearing tutus !! So our school won the game with a last minute touchdown, there was great excitement. Our newly decorated fall section below !
Last night over a few drinks we both started to figure the layout to finish our Basement. It is exciting planning it and we are still deciding what to do and all the possibilities we can come up with. We are going to the home improvement store Menards later to help with the process.
I want to wish my Sister Helen a happy 50th Birthday ! She turned it on Thursday and celebrated last night with our parents and siblings , and later today there are 4 couples going to a hotel to continue the festivities! It is times like this that I miss home ! But I wish her all the best ! .

Have a healthy and beautiful week ahead, Terri xo.
Good morning ladies from a slightly cooler Minnesota this morning . It is cooler than the last few days but still higher than usual for normal temps. It reached 80f earlier this week. It will be in the 60s for the coming week which will feel more fall like. It will be good to get out to some orchards or pumpkin patches in the coming weeks.
Last week I wrote my post from the hotel . After it was finished we went for a relaxing coffee at Caribou, a popular Minnesota chain. It was nice just to relax the two of us! Then we came back and checked out of our hotel and started on the road homewards. We did not get a mile away when we stopped! We found Christmas point wild rice company It is lovely store that has a bit of everything from food as the title suggests to , frames to candles. It was nice wandering through the store.
We made our way to St. Cloud Mn and had lunch . We also looked in Joann Fabrics and Michael’s for fall craft inspiration ! Then we decided to go to a winery a few miles away . We used to do it a lot before the kids were born ! We did a wine tasting of various wines and then settled on a glass each. We purchased 2 bottles to take home. Mine was a german style wine Gemütlichkeit Try saying that! It means Good Times in German. It is made with Prairie Star grapes, but instead of fermenting it all the way to dryness as with Freizeit, I left it semi-sweet. It is a wonderful easy drinking fruity wine, with no barrel aging. Hints of apple, mango, pineapple, and melon come through. Serve chilled !
Two hours after leaving the winery we arrived home to relieve the in-laws ! Well it was not too hard as the kids are all that bit older. Soon after arriving home I went along with one of our sons to a benefit for a little girl who needs a heart transplant. May God grant her the gift of a new heart , Amen !
Sunday was a relaxing day after our trip away, our youngest had swim lessons the highlight. We watched the football game also ! Monday to Friday was a pretty typical week of school and work. On Friday night our daughter went with her friend s to the football homecoming game at the high school and they won ! Today should be pretty relaxing also.

Good morning Ladies as I write this post from Northern Minnesota ! We are here for the wedding of a former coworker. The wedding was yesterday and it was nice to get away for some Husband and wife time as well as celebrating a brand new Marriage!
Last weekend we got our new washer and dryer and they are working really well !(sorry getting excited over appliances!!) We. did need them , to wash and dry for 6 ! Last weekend we had our Parish picnic after church and that was a lovely event! We got to talk to people that we haven’t in a long time so that was nice. In the afternoon I went along with our oldest Son on a nice bike ride. It was definitely summer temperatures!
The week started off with warm temperatures again, and the kids were we’re wearing summer clothes to school! On Wednesday they had their first night of church class for the year, they all did well! Then it was nice when Thursday rolled around and we were at the start of a three-day weekend!( the kids had school though) my in-laws arrived early on Friday morning and at 11 a.m. we left to go to the wedding. At about 2 p.m. we checked into our hotel got changed and went over to the wedding venue on a beautiful Lake. The day was overcast but that didn’t dampen the spirits for the lovely couple. We sat at a table with other friends and had the best time chatting laughing and then of course dancing! A little before 11 p.m. we were ready to leave after a beautiful day.

Have a lovely weekend. we will enjoy the autumn colors as we drive home,Terri xo.
Good morning Ladies ! I am coming a day late as I didnt get to write yesterday morning. The weather has turned cooler as you would expect for this time of year . Some mornings are down to the low 40s but the days warm up afterwards. We had 2 rain days which is nice for our newly seeded grass.
Last Saturday was spent doing chores around the house that were in need of getting done. We got a bunch of old pallets cut up for firewood to use in our backyard pit. We also offered some to our neighbors 2 doors down who we met for the first time, Eric and Wendy with their 2 boys. They took some and had a fire that night! Then there was general house cleaning. on Sunday after Church they had coffee and donuts which are always a nice treat! In the afternoon we had friends come over and their kids went swimming in our pool along with ours for the last swim of the season ! Another sign of the changeover to fall !
It was back to school On Monday for the kids , and work for the adults ! On Wednesday evening I attended a church class meeting for parents. This year they want the parents to get involved in the kids classes and helping them deepen their faith along with us parents, so we can continue to an extent where they leave off from. It will be an exciting development!
Early Yesterday morning I set an alarm to see my beautiful Niece Grace make her first holy communion via live streaming video. It was a lovely ceremony , It got delayed from May due to covid but they had a nice day for it and had a family celebration later back at their house . I was able to chat with Grace and her parents afterwards, the power of online video chatting ! Then at 11am our new washer and dryer arrived !! The ones that were here were not able to perform well enough for a family of 6 so we did have to invest in new . So far so good ! In the evening we went to a local park by a lake where they had done improvements to the facilities. It was a grand opening day event with games music and ice cream !

Good morning Ladies ! We are over halfway through September and we are still experiencing warmer than usual temperatures for this month. As long as it stretches fall into our long winter I will be ok with it. I am looking forward to getting out to some orchard for our annual picking , and just being out in nature in comfortable temperatures will be a great time for all.
Last Saturday morning I watched an event I always did growing up , the All Ireland football , It is their version of the superbowl. I was hoping Mayo would win it as they had been in the final for 6 times in the past decade but had not won any. As it turns out they came up short again , I feel so bad for them, but congrats to Tyrone. A friend came over and watched with me so that was fun.
After the game ends, lovely photo!
Mayo player with his daughter.
In the afternoon we went to see our daughters volleyball tournament, they tried hard but did not get the wins they wanted to advance. Its all about trying again , they will get there! My in-laws also came for the volleyball and before they left in the evening we went for pizza. On Sunday we went to Church , and after had a pretty relaxing day. The Monday to Friday was a pretty typical week of school, work and just all the things we do every week ! There were storms Thursday night and some places had power outages. Funny thing is our middle school had a power outage on Friday morning after the storms and our son had to come home early, there were no tears though, none !
Today we are going to do some organizing in our storage room and pack away some items still in boxes after our move. It is a process ! I also have to take my phone in as yesterday a crack appeared across the screen for no apparent reason.

Good morning Ladies . Today is a poignant day here in the states, the anniversary of 9/11 . It was a day where thousands of innocent souls went to work or flew on a plane but did not come home. I was living in New York at that time and was working 2 miles north of the twin towers that day. Before it happened I heard the hum of a low flying plane and thought it was really loud or low flying and then moved on. A few minutes later someone got a call that a plane had crashed into one of the towers. The rest sadly will go down in history. All we can do is pray for those who died and their families .
Last Saturday we tackled some organizing of the garage. We still had boxes there since we moved in late June and I am glad to say we made enough room so we can get our other car into it! In the evening our friends Brandon Josette and Maddi came over for dinner . The kids love having Maddi over and she likes coming also being an only child. We had a fire in the backyard until the bugs started to get bad. Then the adults watched a movie on netflix, Adrift based on a true story . Do you like truelife movies? On Sunday morning we went to Church and then in the afternoon the kids had friends come over for swimming. One of them stayed for a sleepover. The swimming days are coming to an end very soon!
On Labor day we did a bit more organizing and I also got to watch the solheim cup, the Ladies golf tournament between Europe and the USA . I was delighted to see an Irish young lady Leona Maguire star in the tournament ! Tuesday was back to school for the kids after the long weekend. the week went pretty fast with our daughter playing volleyball a few evenings after school. Today she has a tournament to play in as well, whew so much playing, better her than me!!
My in-laws are coming later and staying over so the kids will be delighted with that! They will also watch some of the tournament. There is also another sports event I have an interest in, The All Ireland mens football final where Mayo will play Tyrone in the final. It starts at 11 am my time today. I grew up with the game , and it is the superbowl comparisson for Irish people!

Good morning Ladies and welcome to September !! August just went by so fast I felt . Last Saturday with the help of all 6 of us we did some house cleaning. It is amazing how many hands make light work At 2pm after a little packing we left to stay at a hotel 2 hours 30 minutes away. As I said last week we were travelling for our nephews baptism.
As we were driving on interstate 94 we went through many downpours and nearly had to pull over as visibility was very low and the wipers were on highest speed! But the showers dissapated we were able to arrive at the hotel in sunshine . We arrived at 5.30 pm and the kids of course went to the pool right away! It was a nice pool and it was not too busy. They swam for over an hour and then went across the parking lot to AJ’s for dinner. It was a nice place and the food was good. After dinner the boys went back to the pool before bed for an hour. The hotel was pet friendly and it was the first time we brought our dog Tucker to a hotel ! He did really well but felt he had to protect us by barking a little when seeing strangers! It was cute really.
We were up early on Sunday morning as the baptism was at 8:30 am and was also a 25 minute drive from the hotel! WE got breakfast , packed got dressed up and were ready to leave just before 8am. On our way we went to this scenic overlook at the nearby lake
The baptism took place during the church’s morning service and it was a beautiful event. He did very well and there were no tears as the water of Baptism was poured over his head! They used a family gown as his outfit. Afterwards we went back to their house and had lunch and conversation. We did not stay too long after as we wanted to get back a little early for the next day’s event : SCHOOL!
Our daughter started High school (yikes!!) and is settling in well. After school there has been a lot of volleyball games both home and travel. Our oldest son started middle school and is meeting new friends as well as the kids he was with at elementary school. Our two youngest started in a new elementary school and were made welcome by everyone ! We have a week done now and I am happy it has all gone so well.
This weekend being labor day , the kids will be off Monday. We are staying home with friends coming over today and on Monday. I am happy to have a pretty relaxing weekend ! The weather is cloudy today with sunshine promised tomorrow.

Good morning Ladies! It is a dry start to Saturday after a week of heavy rain in 4 days since last weekend. We are promised more this weekend .I will take it as it has been a dry summer up until now. It is also welcome for the farmers in our area as they grow their crops.
Last Saturday we got a bunch of yardwork done. Our friend Brandon borrowed a friends tractor to disperse the pile of dirt created from putting our pool in. He came over early and we made breakfast before starting. He is really good on the tractor and after an hour had most of the pile knocked down and spread through the yard in the low spots . We had to take out the clumps and big stones by hand. After it was spread we put down grass seed and it is starting to grow now .
On Sunday we went to Church and after lunch spent a relaxing day at home. I went into the pool for the first time since it was put in, before this I had watched the kids only but I braved the cold water and had a nice time in it !!! The week was pretty typical , but the last week off for the kids, they go back to school on Monday. There were some last minute events, school photos , and a refresher for our new middle schooler getting used to his new surroundings , I went with him yesterday to an empty school , it was nice to walk around and see where his rooms are. Our daughter had a volleyball game Friday and they unfortunately lost, cant win them all!!
A few weeks ago we were both asked to be Godparents to our nephew Stanley and we accepted of course ! So tomorrow at 8:30 am he is being baptized , being made a child of God’s Kingdom. We have to travel 3 hours so we are leaving later today and staying in a hotel overnight . It has a pool so it has the kids excited. Afterwards we will go back to his parents house for lunch. It will be a great day for the family.

Good morning Ladies ! I hope you are all doing well as we move quickly towards the end part of August. The summer has gone so fast and the kids start school a week from Monday! The weather has been pretty humid early in the week but has cooled of nicely heading into the weekend.
Last Saturday we did some landscaping work in our backyard . It was unplanned but due to having a pile of dirt from the dig out for our new pool we wanted to fill in some areas that were low in our yard. We worked together to fill wheelbarrows, the kids helped also. After all we did we still have a lot so our friend Brandon is going to come over today with a front load tractor and spread the rest of the dirt for us, thank you Brandon!! On Sunday we went to Church and enjoyed coffee and donuts afterwards. The kids had friends come visit and their Mom and I had a nice chat for a while as they swam . One of them had a sleepover.
The week did go in fast with kid activities and some more playdates . The new pool is proving popular with them ! Thursday was a big day. Our oldest son had orientation for middle school , still hard to believe for me ! He said it went well and got the bus there and back. Then the younger kids got to meet their new teachers in elementary school. They are in a new school since our move but i think they will adapt well. The teachers were nice and welcoming to them! On Friday our daughter got picked for the 9th grade volleyball team and was excited by that. She is a high schooler now , where has the time gone ??
On Friday night our friends Brian , Crystal and their kids came over for game night. It was a fun time we played name 5 where as it suggests you have to name 5 of something, one question was name 5 bands that begin with B . Can you answer it ? It was fun and stressful all at the same time as you are on teams of 2 or more. We also played giant spoons a fast moving game played with a deck of cards when one person gets 4 of a kind they inconspicuously grab a spoon from the table and wait to see how long it takes for others to notice . then everyone grabs but there is one less spoon than competitors and if you don’t get a spoon you get an S. When you are last grabbing 5 times you are out! It is so fun!
I wanted to get my post published early as Brandon is coming over at 8am for breakfast . Got to feed the workers!

Good Morning Ladies! It is a beautiful sunny Saturday morning here in Minnesota with a temperature of 54 degrees! After such a hot spell this is a welcome break. I do like the cooler weather! We had a little rain during the week which was needed.
Last Saturday our daughter had softball nearly the whole day, Their last game ended at 10 pm. They won some and lost some in the tournament which led to the late game. I did get a little alone time also on Saturday for part of the day which is cherished from time to time ! On Sunday there was an 8am game , we left house at 6am as it was an hour away and they were meeting at 7.15 as a team prep. They did well but lost that game and it ended their tournament, they finished 5th out of 20 teams, well done to all the girls!
After the softball we drove 2 hrs for our nephews baby shower , it was a shower for all not just the ladies this time ! And due to covid it was held 2 months after he was born so he was the guest of honor! It was held at his house and was a fun few hours . On Monday the young boys had swimming lessons, they are really progressing well at them!
On Tuesday we went to our local county fair! It runs from Monday to Sunday and is a lot of fun! We got some good fair food and the kids had a lovely time on all the rides . We met a lot of friends also . On Wednesday ground was broke on our new above ground swimming pool ! A company came in and moved the dirt to level it and installed the frame. It can be left up all year round. By 7pm they were finished installing it and all we had to do was fill it. So over the next 2 days we got it to the level needed. It is still a little cold to go in for most people but not for our boys they braved the cold Yesterday , brrrr !!
Our old neighbors Neena and Chris and their 2 girls came over on Wednesday evening for Pizza also and have a fun time with our kids . It was a busy day here! On Thursday we got a new dishwasher put in as the original one to the house was on its last legs . The new one is soo much better! On Friday evening we went back to the fair ! We just had some food and walked around , no rides this time! It was really busy being the weekend. Early Saturday we did some yardwork as we have a pile of dirt to deal with after the pool install. We will use it to fill in low spots .
