Dress of the week July 24th !

Good   morning  Ladies   !  The   summer  is   speeding  along   here  in  Minnesota  ,  we are  only   one  week   from  August   right  now ! They  have  started   putting  out  the  back to  school  items  in the  stores and  is  a  sign  that things are   moving  fast  towards summers  end. We  will  enjoy  the  time  we  do  have  however.  Yesterday  , and  a  few  days  during  the  week  were  really  humid  adding  to the  heat  of  the  sun  meant it  was   so  much nicer  indoors   during   them  times.

Last  Saturday  we  completed  the  mentioned  projects  of  installing  a  ceiling  fan   and   putting up   shelving  in  the  laundry room!  We  are  putting  our  own  mark on the  house   , bit  by   bit!   There   was   softball  for  our  daughter  also  on  Saturday ,   they  tried   hard   but   were   dissapointed   with the  results.    Better   luck   next time  girls!  We  had a   nice evening afterwards.  Sunday  was  a  relaxing  day  for  us . We  did online Church in the  evening, I do like  to  go in  person  though .

Monday there was swim lessons and our youngest passed his first class after a few weeks going to lessons. He is starting the advanced class now as well. The kids also had dental appointments during the week and all is going well for them! Last night our friends and old neighbors came over for dinner and we had a fun night of chat and board games .

Dress of the week July 17th!

Good morning Ladies ! So after writing a post just 4 days after moving into our new house , I missed my weekly post last weekend ! Between unpacking and arranging things I just did not have the motivation to post so please forgive me ! I will include it here.

On Saturday the  3rd   there  was  a lot of  unboxing and  putting  items in  their  new  homes , be it closets , drawers  or  cabinets! On the  4th the  rest of  the  family  went on a  2  hr   drive to my  in-laws   camper  that  they  recently purchased  by  a  lake .   They  have  access  for  their   boat ,  so  they all went out  for a  bit.  I stayed  back  myself   and  actually  relaxed  mostly   and  visited a  friend  for a  few hours  as  they(Louann  and  John )  were  having  a  get  together  for the  4th. I  just  was  not  prepared  for a  4hr   round  trip , 30 minutes was   much better. They  were  home   before  dark  and  we  watched a  bunch of  the  amateur  fireworks  that  adorned  the  sky  for a   few   hours!

 

 

The  Monday  top  Friday  was  the   standard   week with lots of   work   and  kids  activities .  We also  hired  professional  painters (  a brother of our old  neighbor Neena)  They  repainted    a  lighter  color the  hallways,   Master bedroom   living  room  and  kitchen . There  were  also a   number of  closets  too. 

On  Friday the  9th our  8yr old  played in  his  first  baseball  tournament    since  starting. It is  cute  watching  them at  that  age !  They also played on  Saturday  and  Sunday  and  came  close to winning it all!   They  lost  a  nailbiter  15 to 14.   On  Saturday  evening  the  next  town over  were  having  their  festival  and after  the  parade  we  walked  around  , sampled  food  and  listened  to  music. It  was  perfect  weather ! On Sunday  after  baseball we   pretty much relaxed  and  went to evening  Church.  Our  daughter  had  her  friend  Maddi  come  over  for a  sleepover , she  likes it so much here  she  stayed  2  nights ! After  softball  Monday evening  she had a  second  friend Madison  who  everyone  calls Maddie  stay over also!  

The  week went  by  quickly  until Thursday  when our  friends  Leah,  Tim and  their  boys  visited  on their  way  to Wisconsin  on  vacation.  It was  lovely  seeing  them, one of  the  first  visitors to our  home.  Last  night Friday our daughter  had  to travel for a  softball  game , I stayed home  with the  boys. We  have a  few   projects  planned  today, a  ceiling  fan in  one of the  boys  bedrooms( wish us  look!)   Also some  shelving  to put up in laundry room .

Dress of the week July 3rd !

Good morning Ladies and welcome to my blog from our new home !!! This week has been quite the rollercoaster so we will get into it . On Sunday evening our good friends Brandon Josette and daughter Maddi came over for a last meal together in our old house. He also dropped off this really long trailer for us to pack the last of our household items into . It belongs to a friend of his and we are grateful for the loan of it.

After  packing  boxes  with all sorts of items , from different  parts  of the  house , we had   everything  cleared out at  11:28  am  on  Tuesday morning.  We  were leaving our  home  of  15  years   for the  last time  and  it was  emotional ( I am tearing up now  writing this!)  The  memories  will last   forever in photos  and  video. 

At  1pm  we  signed  for  the   new  house  and  by  1:45  we   got  the  keys , it  was  ours!  The  house   was in  really good   shape, ( we  had  done a  walkthrough the  evening  before and they had  lots of  unpacking to do at  that stage!) It  took a  while  for it to  sink in  that this  was  ours! It  is  so  much more  spacious   for a   family of  6  and  we love it  now.   We  unloaded  the  trailer into the  garage  on that  first  evening, we  also  have  the  rest  of our  stuff in  storage.  We  stayed  at a  hotel  the  first  and  second night  , as  Wednesday  we  had  the   carpets   cleaned and  also  the   central  air  ducts  cleaned  as   one of  our  boys  has  allergies  and  we  wanted  a  fresh  start. On Thursday  my  in-laws  came  to  help   with  unpacking ,  and  all the assembly  that  was   needed . They  stayed  overnight  with us and  left  at  noon  Friday, they  were  a   huge  help!!! 

Also on Friday  our  daughter  celebrated  her  14th  Birthday , so we  wanted  to  make it  special  for  her  also! We had  a  meal at  home  and  sang  happy  birthday  with  her  favorite  cake .  I can’t  believe  14  already!!!  

Today we are  going to  be  doing  some  more  assembly  and unpacking!
