Dress of the week February 27th

Good morning Ladies from a really different Minnesota! This week the temps are climbing above freezing and there is thawing taking place. It feels really nice in the sun . But I know that it can all go back to the cold pretty fast so I will enjoy it while I can.

Last   weekend  was  pretty   relaxing  for  the   most   part. We didn’t have a  lot   planned which I  was   glad  of. there   were   household  chores ( of  course!)  but   we didn’t  get  into   a whole  lot  of  trouble! We  did  go  see  the  model  house  one  more  time  for  the  new  one  we  are  building  to get  ideas  and  ask   questions  during the   building  process. On Monday  we are  going  to  meet  the  designer  , where  we  will pick out  siding, shingles, doors, and  kitchen cabinets, exciting! 

On Tuesday  morning  I  got   a  sad  text  from  both my  sisters.   The  Mom  of  my   best   friend  from  childhood passed  away in her  sleep overnight. She  was   a  lovely  Lady who also  was always   ready for  visitors  to  drop in and  made  you feel  so  welcome. She  also had  a  great  faith in God, and is  now  with   him after  her  earthly  journey has   ended.  I was   grateful to see  her  funeral on  webcam Thursday morning. 

Also on  Tuesday on  a more  light  hearted   note  our  Keurig  coffee  maker   gave  up the  fight  after  7 or  8  years .   We  have a  new  one  ordered  and it  will arrive  Monday.  Looks  like  I will be going out  for   coffee  today again!! I don’t  do it often  so I think it is  ok!! 

Today my  in-laws  are  coming to visit , we are  going to look  at  ideas  for living  room  spaces and  how  to  furnish them. Otherwise  we  do not  have a  lot  planned.

Dress of the week February 20th

Good  morning  Ladies and  welcome  to  a  warmer  Minnesota!!  It is  20f  today  a  huge  warm up  from  during  the  week   and  last  weekend.   From a  low of  minus  13  F  it  slowly  creeped up to  todays.  Some of you  wont  believe  how  warm 20  feels! 

 

Last  Saturday   we  painted one  of  the  boys  rooms . As  you  know  now  after  last  weeks  post  we  are  doing  home  improvements in  anticipation of  selling  the   house  as  we  move into  our  new  house in August. It is going  to  be  a  busy  few  months , figuring stuff out , decluttering  and   showing  our   house. We  will  rent  space in a  storage  unit  to  help us out.   On   Sunday  we  went to our  neighbors to  see their new  puppy called Noelle ,  she is   sooo  cute!  I will  have to get  a  pic up  of  her soon. 

On Monday  night  we  had  a  scare! Our  eldest  son woke up after  midnight puking. He  also  had  flu like  symptoms  but  no  fever.  So on  Tuesday all the  kids  stayed  home   from  school and  he  was  tested  for  the  dreaded  C word.  On  Thursday   morning  the  results  came  back  negative   Thank God!! They all  went  to  school  Friday , it  was  a  24  hour  bug  but  was   worrying at  the  time. 

On Wednesday  we  did  online church for  Ash  Wednesday ,  and we are using lent to  learn more  about  our  faith kids and  adults alike!  The  last  few  days  were   pretty  standard .  We have  started  binge  watching   the  show  Rizzoli  and  Isles  when the  kids go to bed, Have u seen the  show? It is a quirky  and  fun  detective and  coroner  show set in Boston .  Today  it is  relaxing  for  a  change, we  are  bring  the  kids  to the  model home  for our  new one later  to  see  for  themselves  in an hour or so.

Dress of the week February 13th!

Good   morning  Ladies   from  a   very  chilly Minnesota!!  It  is  minus  5   F  or  minus 20 celsius ! It  is  actually  a warm up  from the  _13f  earlier  in  the  week ! I  hope  you  are  all  staying  cozy    and  warm    where  you  are .

Last  Sunday  evening  we  watched  the  superbowl.  I  was   cheering  for  the  Bucs   but  didnt  think  they  would  win as  easy as  they did. The chiefs will be  back Courtney !   There  were some  cute   commercials   as   usual  but  also  some  where   your   thinking, what  was  that  about!  

The  kids  were  back  at  school   Monday  after  the  weekend , I hope  they  make it to  summer ! It  is  important  from a  social point of  view .   On Monday night  we  had  a  realtor friend  come over  and   evaluate our   house . The  market is  hot  right  now  with homes selling  within  24  hours in  some  cases.  I  have to let you into a   secret, on Tuesday we signed on to build  a  new house that  works  better   for  our family ! it is only  4 or  5  blocks  from us  right now in  a new  development , and  the  kids  can  get their own  bedroom. More  details to  follow later….

The  rest of  the  week  went  pretty  fast , last night  we  went  to Pizza  ranch  buffet for   dinner. It is  a  special  treat  once  in a  while .  Today  we  are  going to pick out  appliances so the  kitchen  plans can be  drawn up for  house .  Have to move  fast  it   seems!  Later  we  have   some  painting  projects  to  attend  to. 

 

Wednesday coming is Ash Wednesday, the start of Lent in our Church where during the 40 days we are asked to fast , pray and give alms to those less fortunate . It is the same time frame that Jesus spent in the desert of Judea.

Dress of the week February 7th!

Good morning Ladies and happy Super Sunday! Today is super for football in Tampa Florida. It is a huge event with the build up , the brand new commercials , the halftime show and I nearly forgot the football itself! The Kansas City Chiefs will play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers , this is the first time a team will play the superbowl in their home stadium . I will root for the Bucanneers(sorry Courtney!) I do have a soft spot for Tom Brady their quarterback.

It is  really  frigid  temperatures  here  this  weekend  and  for  the  week  ahead . The  actual  temp is  -18f  with a  wind  chill of  -35 f  or -28c with a  -37c  windchill!!   It is  due  to  continue  cold  during  the  week  so  I  will be  wrapping  up  going  out ! 

Last  weekend  I was  at  our  sons  basketball  game  early on  and  then we  Had  our  friends Crystal  and  Brian  and  their  2  kids over  for  Pizza   and  game  night! The  kids  are  also goo  friends to ours. They  brought  a  game   called  what  do you Meme  where  you add  a  funny  caption to the look on  the  persons  face  that is up.   We also played  giant spoons  , a  quickfire game where you use  a deck of  cards , you have to be the  first  to  get  4 of  a  kind and  when  you  do you subtly grab  a  spoon  and  wait for  the  others  to notice  as  their heads are  buried in the  cards. There is one less  spoon than players  so someone misses out each time , each time you miss out you  get  a  letter , start spelling the word  S p o o n s . You  can play it with a  few  cheap plastic soup  stirrer  spoons and  a deck of  cards. 

 On Sunday  we  did online  Church , then  it  was  a quiet  evening   and  getting  ready  for  school.  We now  have  3  out of  4  kids  back Thank God!    We  had Volleyball , softball basketball and  Church class to   get  kids to  in  evenings  during the   week. On Friday  the  two of us  had  date  night at  a  local tap house. It  was  great to get  out  as  husband and  wife!   Last  night  we  visited  our  friends  Brandon  &  Josette   and  had  couple  time  and  played  some  games.
