Dress of the week January 23rd !

Good  morning  Ladies ! As  January  rolls  on we  are  getting  typical  winter  temps  and  weather  for  Minnesota.  Yesterday  morning  was  3f  with  wind ! It  did  warm up later  in  the  day  though. Today is  starting  off  at  10f   and  we  are   promised   between  3  and  6  inches of  snow. I  hope  the  weather is  nice  where  you are ! 

Last  Saturday  I  went  to  my  son’s  first basketball  game ! it is  a local  league and  he  was  playing against  one of his  best  friends . I  was  chatting  to  his  friends  Mom  during game  so  the  rivalry  was  not  too  intense.   He is  liking it  but is  working on the  finer  skills of  the  game and  trying  to   do  better at  them. 

The  rest of  Saturday  was  spent  doing  chores  around  the  house (never  ending  right!)  On Sunday we  did Church online  again   then in  the  afternoon  watched  some  football.  Two of  my  blogging  friends  teams  were  in  opposition! Mackenzie and Courtney  The  Chiefs just  beat out  the  browns !  Congrats  Courtney, very hard  luck  Mackenzie. 

Monday  was  Martin Luther  King  day, what  an inspirational  man  he  was. It  was  also  my Mom’s   birthday, happy distant  Birthday Mom!!Tuesday  our Kindergartener and 2nd  grader  started  back in the  classroom! I am  so  happy  they  get  to go  back , with distancing procedures in  place. Now  there  are  2  at  home , and  they will  return  in  mid  February.   The  rest of  the  week  was  pretty  straighforward. 

Lower  bath remodel!! 

As  promised  last  week  here  are  the  completed  lower bath  Pics !

We added the same floor covering we used in the upper bath from last weeks post. We added wallpaper on one wall , what do you think? The linen cabinet is existing . We took out our pedestal sink and put in this new vanity cabinet and top along with new faucet. We took out the old medicine cabinet and replaced it with this new recessed one. The shower has a sliding door but it is a dated brass and the curtain looks better in my opinion to cover it! You can still see it peeking out .

Dress of the week January 16th !

Good morning Ladies how are you today? Welcome from a wet/snowy /slushy Minnesota . Usually it would be just snowy but our temps have been higher than usual and we have been getting some rain also. We got a few inches of snow . It is supposed to get cooler over the coming days. I see that the record high temp today for instance is 37f or 2.7c set in 2006!!

I did not post last week , time got away from me I guess. It was a pretty relaxing weekend overall though. We got the 2 bathrooms completed that we were working on though. You want to see pics now !? I will post the basement Bathroom next week.

Upper Bath

I think it came out well ! We added new heavy duty linoleum floor covering . Also we put in a window that had never been there before , then decided to go with a wallpaper on that wall. We also repainted an off white/light blue color. You can see the doors and cabinet are a traditional stain finish but we wanted to add white trim with maybe painting the doors at a later date. This is a shared bathroom , the door on the right is our Master bedroom. A few years ago we put in the double sink, that was a great help! It also has a bathtub with shower and shower stall. I had never seen it before we moved in. The shower stall has a door but it looks better with a curtain as it is a little dated! We added curtains and accent pieced on walls and above toilet.

The kids start going back to school next week ! The 2 little ones go on Tuesday , they are excited to get back. Then our 5th grader is the following Monday with our middleschooler starting in early February. We can hope for normalcy to return bit by bit . Our restaurants also reopened last Monday , I am excited for that!

This morning our son plays his first basketball game! One parent can attend and we will swap as he has 2 games total.

Dress of the week January 2nd !

Good morning Ladies! It felt strange typing in January above but we are indeed in a new month and new year ! I am happy for that and looking forward to better days ahead and getting back to some normalcy as soon as it is possible to safely do it .

It has been a week of pretty much staying home for the kids since Christmas, usually they would be going to friends houses during Christmas vacation , or they would come here to play with the newly delivered toys or games. We are making the best of it and they are playing nicely among themselves for the most part!

The weather has been pretty good for this time of year , we had snowfall during the week, about 4 inches , we are living in a winter wonderland as per usual in Minnesota!

Over the past 3 days we have been renovating our basement bathroom. we put in new flooring , wallpaper medicine cabinet and vanity light . All done by ourselves , its nice to have a handyman ! Pics to follow in later post .

We are going to relax today, The kids go back to distance learning school On Monday and possibly in school later in January.
