Dress of the week December 27th !

Good morning Ladies , its hard to believe but we are now 2 days 0n the back side of Christmas day! The celebrations do go on though until the 6th of January, the feast of the epiphany.

The kids finished school ( distant learning school) on Tuesday until the 4th of January . We did a movie night and they got to stay up later! Our little guy was ready for sleep when it was done. On Wednesday it was quite a day! It snowed 5 or 6 inches but had strong winds also so it drifted ! The temp was 0 degrees F but the wind made it feel minus 24F or minus18C with a windchillt of minus 31! We didnt stay out much that day!

Wednesday 23rd December!

On Christmas eve we did a bunch of prep , cleaning and decluttering for hosting Christmas day with ourselves and my in-laws . We also had an aunt so there were 9 of us. 2 families were not able to make it, one where my Sister-in-law is a radiologist and didnt want to expose anyone, the other is my brother -in-law and his wife are expecting their first baby in April and didn’t want to expose her.

The kids got up early and Santa had indeed visited, its good to know he is immune to and pandemic issues! There were games , educational fun books and some electronics gifted , of course they also got spoiled by grandparents, aunts, uncles on all sides!

We sat down to eat at 1:30 and had a lovely afternoon of food and chat. We lost 2 Grandma’s this year but we are thankful that we were all staying healthy in the year that has been 2020. We get to put it in the archive very soon and can hopefully look forward to 2021 as a better year.

Yesterday St. Stephens day. as I grew up calling it was a relaxing day at home , in the afternoon I took the kids sledding but it was not perfect conditions due to the fresh snow that didn’t get packed yet. Our friends came over for game night , we played smarter than a fifth grader on our new Alexa( who knew you could !) and also music quiz from all the decades, it was fun! We finished with the giant spoons, I recommend it, so fun!

  1. Hi, Terri. It’s very strange this year as it still feels very Christmas-y to us. In fact, we’ve made Christmas cookies after Christmas. It’s nice to still have that magic in the air.
That’s great that you were able to have a little get together on Christmas. It’s sad all your family couldn’t make it though–next year will be back to normal I hope.
Oh yes, Santa makes it through anything, even a pandemic, thank goodness. It sounds like he delivered all sorts of goodies!
Sledding sounds like it was fun even if the snow wasn’t perfect. It’s snowing here right now–the first real snow of the season. I’m sure there will be many more opportunities this winter.
The dress of the week is pretty although even in my younger years I’d never have been able to pull it off. The model looks gorgeous in it though!
    Happy New Year, Terri! 🎊

    1. Hi Cindy, it is Christmassy to us too here also. Aww that is wonderful, Christmas cookies after the day! It was a nice time with some extended family, I definitely hope for better days ahead in the new year! Yes Santa is a warrior , he sure came through in the goodies department!! The sledding was fun but it started to get cold and they were done! WE have got about 2 or 3 inches overnight here . I totally agree with you on the dress of the week! I would not have been able to wear it comfortably either without being self consious! The model wears it well. Thanks so much for visiting Cindy, happy new year to you and your family also, Terri xo.

  2. I agree, the celebration goes on! Christmas is a season, not just a day! In fact, we leave our lights and decorations up all January. I’m glad you’re enjoying family time and movie night and game night. It is sad that 2 grandmothers passed away.

We will be having a family movie night for New Year’s Eve, instead of the usual Ceili that I’ve been doing for years.

Blessings of heath and happiness for the coming year!

    1. The celebration does go on Carmen! It goes until January 6th , we can keep celebrating! Yes family time is so nice to have , especially this year. We are missing 2 great women who passed this September and October. I am sure you will miss the ceili but hopefully it can take place sometime in the new year. Sending back good wishes for a healthy 2021 to all of you, thanks for visiting Carmen, Terri xo.
