Good morning Ladies , its hard to believe but we are now 2 days 0n the back side of Christmas day! The celebrations do go on though until the 6th of January, the feast of the epiphany.
The kids finished school ( distant learning school) on Tuesday until the 4th of January . We did a movie night and they got to stay up later! Our little guy was ready for sleep when it was done. On Wednesday it was quite a day! It snowed 5 or 6 inches but had strong winds also so it drifted ! The temp was 0 degrees F but the wind made it feel minus 24F or minus18C with a windchillt of minus 31! We didnt stay out much that day!
On Christmas eve we did a bunch of prep , cleaning and decluttering for hosting Christmas day with ourselves and my in-laws . We also had an aunt so there were 9 of us. 2 families were not able to make it, one where my Sister-in-law is a radiologist and didnt want to expose anyone, the other is my brother -in-law and his wife are expecting their first baby in April and didn’t want to expose her.
The kids got up early and Santa had indeed visited, its good to know he is immune to and pandemic issues! There were games , educational fun books and some electronics gifted , of course they also got spoiled by grandparents, aunts, uncles on all sides!
We sat down to eat at 1:30 and had a lovely afternoon of food and chat. We lost 2 Grandma’s this year but we are thankful that we were all staying healthy in the year that has been 2020. We get to put it in the archive very soon and can hopefully look forward to 2021 as a better year.
Yesterday St. Stephens day. as I grew up calling it was a relaxing day at home , in the afternoon I took the kids sledding but it was not perfect conditions due to the fresh snow that didn’t get packed yet. Our friends came over for game night , we played smarter than a fifth grader on our new Alexa( who knew you could !) and also music quiz from all the decades, it was fun! We finished with the giant spoons, I recommend it, so fun!
