Dress of the week November 3oth

Good  afternoon ladies! It  is  the  Saturday of  Thanksgiving  weekend and  we  survived yet  again hosting  for our  family !On  Monday afternoon  we  both went  to the  elementary school to see  our  son  play the  ukulele in their  last session for the  year. He likes it and is interested in getting  his  very own. Tuesday  was  spent  getting  the  house  spick and  span ( well more spick and span than usual!) in anticipation for people coming on Thursday.

Tuesday night into Wednesday morning it snowed 5 inches , the kids  had  the day off anyway which was  good. Last minute  items were  picked up  to be  ready  for  the  big  day. The kids  stayed  up late watching  a  movie  which helped them sleep in the  next morning.  We did a bunch of food  prep   and  people  started arriving around 10.30 . They had dishes to heat up after driving . There were 16 in total including us 6.  It was  a lovely time together  with good food . We are all thankful for another year together.  People left by 6pm  and it was  a  quieter house again ( its never totally quiet here!)

I did not go black Friday shopping . Instead on Friday morning we transformed the house from fall  to Christmas decorations, and put up the tree. The kids helped this year in a  big  way. They were excited to! We baked Christmas cookies  trying to start a  tradition  going forward . They were all decorated in unique ways by  the kids. Our neighbor Maddi came over to help also ( she is 6 months younger than our  Daughter  and her parents  split a  few years back unfortunately  and spends 7 days at each house)  We had  Lasanga  in the evening and maddi and her Dad joined us for it. We got another 4 inches of snow overnight , so it truly is  a winter wonderland  all before December 1st!

SHOUTOUT!!!  This is for Courtney and her Husband Jake   who through  her blog announced  she is pregnant  and are expecting their first  child in May See her post here congratulations to both of you!

Dress of the week November 23rd

Good morning Ladies, how are you today ?  It  started out  with  a  heavy frost  and  now  has  changed to beautiful sunshine  here and  a temp of  37 which feels nice . ( I know some of you think that sounds crazy !)  Last  weekend  we  stayed close to home , did a  bunch of  errands  and  set  up our  sons  archery  target. He  got  a  bow  for his birthday   and  is having  fun ( under strict  supervision!)  trying to hit the  target.  When  the  kids went to bed  we  binge watched  some of our  Chicago shows .   On  Sunday  after  Church   we  had  coffee  and  donuts  and  chatted with our son’s  friends  and  their  Mom  Crystal.  Tuesday  evening  we met with our  life Insurance  agent  to  do a yearly  review .   Wednesday  was  Church class for the  kids .  This morning I went to the  hair salon to  tidy up my hair and  get  a  little taken off.  I ran some errands  also. I have  a  little  me time for now !

This evening we are  supposed to go out to dinner with our  neighbor  Brandon (happy Birthday Brandon Nov 22!) and his Girlfriend  Josette  but I am not sure if it is still happening  as  her  Grandma had to be taken to the  emergency room this morning, I am not sure about  the rest of the details as  I write.Update:-  We  did not go out for dinner , Josette’s Grandma had pneumonia  and was having trouble  breathing, she is doing fine now.  Oh well we have a  chance to reschedule now!

Thanksgiving

We are  hosting  Thanksgiving   this year  and are expecting  18 people in total depending on how  the  great Grandparents are feeling. The Great Grandma is on oxygen to help her  breathe and has good days and  bad  days.  Everyone is  bringing  something so  many hands make light work.  We are looking  forward to family time .

Dress of the week November 16th

Good  morning  Ladies , how are you today ?  It  is  a really  nice  34 degrees  and  partly sunny  as  I write  this  at  7am.  It  is  a  nice  break from the  4 degrees it  was  earlier this  week. It  was unseasonably  cold ( even for Minnesota!!!)  for mid  November . We also got a little snow  but it is gone  now.  Yesterday  was  gorgeous with sun  and  32. I know a lot of  you probably  cannot  appreciate 32 degrees being  nice , but  it is amazing  how  nice   a  warm up feels!

The Carp River in Michigan

Last  weekend  was  low  key with  a bunch of  housework  and  laundry  done .  With a  Mom , Dad and  4  kids it is a  lot of  pieces of  clothing !   On Sunday  after  Church  we  went to the  Knights of  Columbus  pancake  breakfast  which is always  so good and  is our  brunch for the  day .   Sunday  night  we  had  homemade  loaded  baked  potato soup  for  dinner , it was very tasty !  Monday and  the  regular  week came  quickly  and all the  juggling  there is to do  to get  through it!

Dress of the week November 9th

Good  morning  ladies !  I apologize  for  not  posting  last  week .  It  was  just  another  busy  weekend of  family  time  and  did  not  have  time  to write.    Our  temperatures  have  got  very  cold , as  low  as  7F ( -13c)  Yesterday. We  also got  one  and  a half  inches  of  snow Wednesday.   I am so not  prepared  for  Winter  in  fall  again!   The  week  before  the  kids  went  trick or  treating  and  the  temps  were  on  the  Chilly  side . We  only  spent  an hour  outside .  We  did not  get  it  as  bad  as  Cindy in Chicagoland who titled  her  post  Merry Halloween  after 7 inches of  snow in  Northern Illinois!

Think Fall!!!

Last  Sunday  we  went  to my  in-laws to  celebrate  5  family  Birthdays  from  September past to January. It is  a big  span  but it  is hard  to meet  up  sometimes apart  from  Thanksgiving and  Christmas  this  time of  year.  One of  those  Birthdays  was  for our  son  Oran  who   celebrated  his  10th  Birthday  on Tuesday. He  is  so  thoughtful , witty ,  kind  and  funny ! We  will  definitely  keep  him  for another  10  years  by  which time  he  will be  a  young  man  , yikes !!

This  weekend  is  going  to be  pretty low  key.  Are  you  doing  anything  special ?
