Dress of the week July 27th

Good  morning  Ladies!  Can  you  believe  it  is  the  last  weekend  of  July?  We  are  on  the  doorstep  of  August  and  the  last  month  of  summer . I hope  you   have   managed  to  have  some  summer  fun .   The  weather  is  staying  warm  and  mostly  humid  with  sporadic  thunderstorms  to  cool us  down.

Last  weekend  our  softball  girls  finished  their  season after  being  beaten in  the nationals  tournament  Saturday  evening.  They  did  great  all  year !   There  were  lots  of  tears and  hugs as   it  will  be  the  last  time they  will  be  together on  the  same  team.  Some  move  up  to  14 u   and  some  stay  in  12 u  for  next  year.  They  all  went  bowling  on  Sunday  afternoon  to  celebrate  the  season !

We  have  been  busy  with  our  3  boys  also ,  going  to  waterparks  and  the   zoo  this  week. The  boys  start  soccer  next  month ,  The  two older  ones  played  last  year  also , but  its  a  first  for our  4  year old.

We  are  hosting   our  friends  Eric  and  Sarah  along  with  their  2  year  old  Lucy today. The  kids  will go  swimming in our  much  used  pool while  the  adults  can   chat and  maybe  enjoy  a  beverage!

Not  my  home  but  I  love  these  flowers!!!

Dress of the week July 20th

Good  morning  Ladies!!  What  are  you  doing  this  weekend ?   We  have a  softball  tournament  going  on  since  Thursday, the  last  one  of  the  summer  season called  nationals .  The  Girls qualified for  this  great event  after  earlier wins throughout  the  year. It  started  on  Thursday  morning  with  a  game  ,  they  lost ,  and  then  won  their second  Thursday  afternoon . Then  in  the  evening  there  was  a  parade  where  all  the  teams  dress up !

Our  team  are  the  tigers  and  the  girls  picked  out  these  full  body  tiger  costumes from  the  3  photos  above. The only  this  is  it  was  95 degrees  with a  humidity  feel  of  105!!   They  persevered   and  got  through  it  drinking  lots  of  water. I  felt  bad  for  the  guy  in  the  tiger  head . There  were  many  cute  teams  ,  I  wish  I  had  taken  more  photos .    We  played  two  games  Friday  won  one    and  lost  one.   We   have  our  next  at  9:30  this  morning , phew!!

It  has  been a   warm few  days  as  said  earlier,  today  is  supposed  to  cool  a  bit.

The  rest  of  the  week  was  quite  normal ! I  have  to  get  going  soon!

Dress of the week July 13th

Good  morning  Ladies! Welcome  to a   sunny  Minnesota  with  temps   getting  into  the  90s or  32-34 celsius for  next week, phew! I  like  some  sun  but  that  is  getting  a  little  hot  for  this  Irish body! We  will  stay  cool . It  was  a  nice  long  weekend  with  the 4th  of  July  on  Thursday. Saturday  and  Sunday  were  spent  pretty  much   at  home.

The monday-Friday  was  pretty  much  routine ,  the  kids  did  a lot  of  swimming  and  had  their  summer  activities .  Yesterday  was   a    great  day  for  Liam  when  he  finally  mastered  riding  his  bike ! He  was  practicing  for  so long  and  then got  it!  So   excited  for  him .

We  have    softball  this  weekend , it is  the  state  tournament  .  We  will  see  how  our  girls will  do!!

Dress of the week July 6th !

Good  morning Ladies !  We  have  turned  the  calendar  to  July  and  the  summer  is  starting to roll  on ,   as long  as  it  is  not too  fast  , right?   Last weekend   was  taken  up  with  softball ( surprise !)  and  a  visit  from  my  in-laws.  Softball  was  Saturday, our  team  played  3  games and  had  to  win  one  to  make  it  to state   which  they  did!  It  was  nice  not  having  it  on  Sunday !  Most  of  the  Girls on  the  team  came  over  to  our  pool  in  the  evening  Saturday  for  swimming  and  Pizza .   It  was a  great  way to  cool  down after    a  hot  day. They  all get  along  so  well.

On  Sunday  after  Church there  was  a meal  and  celebration  for  the  Lady who   directed  pastoral  life in  our  parish   for  a  number  of  years.(We  also  went  to a  local restaurant on  Friday for those  closer  to  her)   She  retired  at  the  end  of  June.  Dottie  is  truly  a   woman  who  knows  the  meaning  of  serving  God  and  I  can  learn  from  her.  She  will continue  to  volunteer in   the  Church.

The  in-laws  met  us at  the  celebration  at  11.30 am   and  after  we  hung  out  at  our  house.  My  mother-in-law celebrated  her    birthday on the  Friday  (June 28th)  and  so in  the  evening   we went to  a    restaurant  close  to our  house  so  the  kids  could  also  give  her  a  great  birthday  gift!

On  Tuesday  our  Daughter  turned  12 !!!!   I am  not  sure  how it  is  possible  but  that’s   the  answer  the  calculator  came  up  with  when  we  did  the  math!   We  had  a  little  celebration  at  home  and she  requested  ice  cream  cake  from  Dairy  Queen .

On  Independence day  July 4th  we  celebrated  with our  neighbor and  his  Daughter , and also  his friend  who  recently  moved here  from  New  York  with  his  boy  and  Girl .  We  went  to  a parade  in  the  morning  15 miles  away , a  tradition  we  have  begun for a  number  of  years.   Then  we  came  back and  had  lunch, swimming to  cool down .  The guys bought  a  bunch  of  fireworks  from a  stand  in  our  town . They  are  the  kind  that  don’t leave  the  ground but  were  still  pretty  cool  for  the   kids! Others in  the  neighborhood crossed  state  lines to  buy the  airborne  kind , you  are  not  supposed  to use  those  in  our  state but  it  is  not  enforced  really.

This  weekend  is  just  a  time  to  hangout and  enjoy !
